Install an MP3 aux jack in a 2002 Ford Taurus w/ stock stereo

I'd like to install a mini-stereo aux jack in my 2002 Ford Taurus SES so I can plug my iPod into the car. The stereo system is what came with the car -- single CD and radio. Right now I have an FM transmitter but it's pretty fuzzy. Does anyone have schematics or suggestions on how I could go about doing this?

if the radio has a button for an auxilary input, then that means that there should be an RCA input on the back. if so, go to a radioshack or something and get a rca to mini stereo jack. i did that in my car and it works great. if your radio doesnt have that button it most likely doesnt have that input on the back in which case i would suggest getting a new radio if you really want it. im sure there is a way to get around a new radio but its most likely cheaper to just get a new radio

I just Google'd this because I was curious about this too. Came across this site. I too am interested in this because my radio stations are so crappy around here. Let me know if you come across anything, Trevorpowell.

I have a 2001 ford taurus. Just install a new headunit, the sound will be much worth the 50 bucks of crap it takes to install. if you know what your doing it wont take long.

I have never seen a factory radio that has an auxiliary input on the back, even if it has the aux button or not.
