I have a powerbass 3000d running at 1 ohm, well not running yet, until I find out what inline fuse to use, I was installing everything yesterday and the holders sheared both 300A fuses now I need new fuses but cannont find any 300 locally, how much do I acutally need for the fuse rating, I was told a 300 would be fine, but I just want to be safe, I am running 2 yellowtops one under the hood and one in the back, 2/0 ga wire throughout, Iraggi 280 amp alt, powerbass 3000d and mt 18, ready to be hooked up when I get 2 fuses

If you can't get the fuses in time, don't worry...just wire them without the fuses. I haven't used fuses in a looong time. When they come in then put them in if you want.

Dude, stop giving out bad advice, that's just not plain safe.

What happens if his wire gets rubbed raw where it's going through the firewall? What's going to happen?

Here's a list:

-The wire will very hot and the insulation will start to melt.

- Any wires the power wires come in contact with will melt and short out too. (I.E. the wiring harness for the vehicle)

-By this time, the battery will have gotten hot enough to either explode, or the terminals will have melted through, letting acid pour out.

-If he's lucky, that will be the end of it. And all he will have to do is rewire the whole vehicle, and replace electrical components. If he's not...CarBBQ.

If he's just talking about burping his system, the wire won't get hot enough to melt. He's using 2/0 wire. If he was talking about daily driving it like that, that would be a different story...

Look at how many of the Worlds Top SPL competitors use fuses and then come back and talk to me. You'd be surprised at how few do.

When you're talking about running amps that can, and will draw over 600A per amp, where do you think you'd get fuses that big.

A single SS 6500D will draw over 600A. Alot of the amps used in spl comps will draw that amount of current, and we use as many as 4 amps per sub!

Like I said earlier, I haven't used fuses in a looong time, and most competitors I know don't either.
