i want to buy a pair of 5 1/4s and 6x9s. infinity is a big name, i was thinkin about the infinity reference speakers. r there any other speakers out there that r better for the same price? im plannin on spendin around $200-$300 on speakers......ive got an alpine with 27 watts rms, but ill prolly get a 50 watt amp to push the 6x9s

Infinity Reference 6953's are an awesome speaker for the price. They go really low for a 6X9, and they're smooth as silk (pun intended). For 5 1/4's the Kappas are better than the Reference's, and not much more money. They take quite a bit of power for coaxials (55 watts).

With the discounted prices you can get on eBay, Infinity is tough to beat.

look in to the cdt audio cambria 6x9. midbass will be better than the reference and the tweeters are amazing! WAY better than the infinity's. the reference's tweeters sounds unrealistic and scratchy. CDT audio is known for their midbass

My Infinity Kappa 692.5i 6x9" sound put out quite a bit of bass for 6x9"s. I only have 27 watts RMS going to each with my Alpine deck, but they still can pound fairly decent. Nice mids and highs, too.
