I had no idea this thing was still going...

Drift cars dont feature ANY of those... Why would a drift car need camber? The whole point of drifting is losing traction, the whole point of camber is to increase the tires contact patch while conrnering by pro-actively predicting the tires variation from its normal axis during a corner and counteracting that by cambering in the opposite direction of that roll...

Why would a drift car stretch a tire? That is just plain stupid as hell... Stretched tires are for increasing a tires performance by simulating a stiffer tire wall. Drift cars, again, drive sideways, and a stretched tire in a drift situation is asking for sidewall failure...

As for the lowering and wide tires, anyone with a clue would know and understand the trade offs with these on a drift car... Drift cars use wide tires, but not overly wide, for the obvious reasons. And they may be lowered, but not enough to make the suspension useless...

There are some retarded lines of logic ITT...
The camber you're talking is a slight amount, the amount needed to cause the entire width of the tire to contact the ground during hard cornering.

V.I.P. camber is supercamber ... enough to cause only a small, inner portion of the tire to touch the ground, and look dumb doin' it.

Bump

OP, someday down the line you'll wanna buy a house, and instead of borrowing $200,000, you're gonna have to borrow $220,000. And, then you're gonna see those pictures again of your Supercamber VIP and cry out, "D@mn, I shoulda listened to that dr_peeb back in '09. He was on time. I wasted like 20 grands modifyin' my awesome G35, and goodgawd look how dumb it looked. What was I thinkin'? Not only that, but that 20 grands I wasted coulda been sittin' in a money market account earnin' at least a lil bit o' interest, not much but sumphin' anyway. So I lost that interest, too. And, the extra cost of me borrowin' 20 extra grands for the next 30 years is gonna cost me a friggin' mint, too. D@mn that dr_peeb was right and I shoulda listened. Oh, well, it's off to work I go. To my sh!tty job I hate."

Hahaha! Love, dr_peeb

This is no different than the stupid shit your generation or mine did back int eh day...
I know. I'm just trying to convince him supercamber & stretchtires are dumb & dumb looking.

I gotta remind myself everybody's free to waste their money & look dumb doin' it.

Kinda fun to argue about, though.

This Thread Must Die.
So true. Unless ... somebody wants to argue some more about whether or not this looks good (it does not)

Stretching a thin tire onto a wide rim decreases a wheel’s standard tire width resulting in a smaller contact patch and less traction. It also adds strength to the sidewall, NOT weakness. I can't think of one time that a tire has failed on a drift event I have attended or seen.

Read what I wrote above. It results in a smaller contact patch, which is easier to break loose, and get sideways.

The look pretty low to me. MOST drift vehicles have extremely negative camber on the front, but limit the camber on the rear, which would result in understeer, making it difficult to control the car in a slide. Toe-in/toe-out is extremely advantageous as well.

You literally posted the worst misinformation in the thread.

Please do your research ahead of time.

Might be a good read for you.

Good job!

You need to stick to what you know, and apparently that is sending pictures of your package to guys on a forum.
