I have never used anything like it, nor do I know if something like it exists.

I'm looking for something like a crossover that won't affect impedance. I am buying a set of 6x9's (Alpine Type-S) and I want to cut out the highs (preferable above 1K) to use it as an interim Midbass until my friend buys an aftermarket Head unit.

He has a stock Bose system that is stupidly propietary and I'm trying to make something work for cheap until he saves for a new setup. The stock 6x9 paper cones finally tore and he needs something in there ASAP. There is no independent controls for speakers like you get with aftermarket head units, so i need to make something work assuming it is financially viable.

Any ideas?

P.S. - His 6x9's were 1-ways, so midbasses. Hence the reason I want to cut the highs off to replicate the stock setup and reduce impact on soundstage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Unfortunately there are no coaxials involved. Bose sends an unamped signal from the head unit via basic audio wiring to the post amp mounted on the back of the speaker. The amp then amplifies it into the speaker. It's not your traditional setup....think of the lower line Power Acoustiks that accept audio wiring in a harness only that you have to splice.....but stock...and at 1 or 2 ohm.
