That's what I was planning on, CSCStang it might not load properly without the port being 12 inches from the roof though, and it definitely won't be that close so I dunno I guess it's worth a tryYou might want subs and port up fire then.
00 Silverado Ext cab. First of the nbs, similar to the 03-07 insideWhat's the truck? And guessing sub forward port side? You have the power... really just need more come area...
Are you running sweeps while moving seats and stuff or just tones? Cause moving things around inside can change the peak frequency.
Still makes for a fun daily.
Had a 00 sierra with 2 15s forward, ports side on 2k and it was doing 147-148.
I can certainly agree with that statement. I was mostly curious to see what I could do to get louder, not chase tenths and I'm getting a better idea thanks to the meter and your guy's insight.Wifes crv can do 146 @44 with single 15 on under 1200w,While my 2 tantric hdd 15s in the subaru on 7k barely did 147. I'm convinced there's no logic in spl
Is that 146 picture your response curve? Is there not a peak a bit up higher? Once you have your volume set keep testing tones up and up and up to about 60hz anyway. You may start going down after around port tuning but start gaining again >50hz or wherever you get near the cabin resonance. 27hz peak may just be 8th wave with 1/4 wave at 54hz?The box is tuned to 35, and testing pretty much proves that as the sub barely moves around the frequency.
As far as 50hz goes, I'm guessing that's a resonance as I didn't play anything at 50hz but I'll give it a go. Definitely won't get as much power due to voltage drop but if I do peak up there that'll definitely be weird because it doesn't sound that way on music.
I'll mess with it in WinISD but considering it's a team driver and has a large thermal mass I imagine the 35% variation rule will absolutely be a factor
I like the looks of the 5 cube higher tuned. Those lines look like about what I'd expect. Some weird things going on, obviously im missing something. The larger I make the box the bigger the peak gets almost to no limit (obviously it'd be bottom out where it doesnt show on this chart)
this is 3 cubes vs 5 cubes @ 35
vs
5 cubes @ 40
this driver clearly likes higher frequencies to peak at
the 3 cubes at 35 looks a lot like my response curve right now, making me think somehow my box appears to be more towards 3 cubes than 5 cubes which *****.

I was thinking the same thing. I wish I knew more people local to help me learn how to make some aeroports. It's setup where I could just pull the port out and throw in a shorter port and I have no doubt I'd gain because of the increase in volume, and increase in tuning. I might even try something crazy like a 10 inch port and do some sort of burp lolIs that 146 picture your response curve? Is there not a peak a bit up higher? Go down to Home Depot and buy a stick of sonotube and use that. Given adequate port area flares aren't really terribly beneficial and if you look at Terry Brock's trunk boxes the outside of the port isn't really flared at all. It's a quick cheap way to play with port tuning anyway and you can always buy or build flares if you hit on a round port configuration that you really like.I was thinking the same thing. The top is a response curve but I didnt go past the low 40's with it, obviously I need to try that now
Thanks I'll try that. Almost considering just doing a big *** 10 inch port tbhGo down to Home Depot and buy a stick of sonotube and use that. they're out of businessYou could get an adjustable metal flaired portI have an 8” one
I think pyscoacoustics makes them.
driver/port placement and being tuned for daily im guessing. maybe the box is too small, but ive had a few people tell me these subs want 3.5 cubes not 4.5 cubes so idfkOr use the versatune ports by Big Ass Ports. There's gotta be a major bottleneck with that box if you can't do a 150 with that equipment in that small of a cabin.
