Im worried about my battery and alternator

Hi I am about to totally redo my entire sytem. I am about to buy two Infinity Prefect 12.1 Subs and 2 sets of Infinity Perfect 6.1 Components and this means I need a lot of amp power. I have two Rockford Fosgate Amps. One is a 400.2 and the other a 400.4. I am worried because of all this power. They both have a load of 40 amps. Should I get a second battery? I don't want to mess up my car (I know I should be pushing the Infinitys harder but I already have what i have).

Thank you in advance for your advice.

A cap and a battery also need to be powered by the alternator. Either way, the alternator must be done over.

And If you get a good one, or have it redone well, you may not need the extra battery.

The quickest and easiest solution is the alternator. But the best solution is the alternator.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Get it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

What kind of car do you have? And it shouldn't matter if you're only drawing 80 amps total, most cars factory altenators will take that and them some.
true most cars put out in excess of 80 amps but thats INCLUDING the power drawn but the car (for lights, radio, a/c etc. ). Getting your alt rewound or buying a hi output alt. is the best way to go.

I have a 1995 escort if that matters. Luckliy the alternator is VERY easy to take out. So as is it I am going to get a high put alternator (or get is rewound), a cap, and a new battery (maybe). Thanks for the help

you will be fine i have a planet audio 1200d with 3 30 amp fuses on it and a 300-4 with 2 30 amp fuses and 1 cap, my alternator puts out enough...actually class d amps are way more efficient but still those rf's arent that bad. isn't that bad....just make sure your stock electrical system is in good shape....
