Edit: Also, with the amp that I have, would an HDS312 be ok even though its being under powered or should I stick with the 212?

That a dynamic rating. It does 500 at 2 or 4ohm. You can wire to 2 or 4 ohm with that amp. It's a very good amp.

Dude, you really need to read the replies. For this amp, it doesn't matter whether you wire at 2 or 4 ohms - output is the same.

Wow ... JBL MS-A5001? From what I googled, that looks really fancy, but do you guys think 500 watts will be enough for him?

500 real watts vs a crappy boss 5000 watt amp, It will destroy that boss amp any day in power output and sound quality.

Box is next project next weekend. Im sticking to the one sub. But for the sub, @ 750w should i stick to the 212 or go for the 312 for upgrading purposes?

I'm on my way to work and the amp just cut out. it looks like it is either in protect mode for its shorting out because it keeps turning on and then resetting.
