I'm pretty sure I blew my sub..

Ok. So I put the other sub in. Set the amp gain all the way to the left and turned bass boost all the way to the left too.

Sounds good in the car but when I opened the trunk the sub sounded like it was rattling/vibrating or something. Maybe this is what happened in the one that blew yesterday. I never opened the trunk after I put that one in.

how is your subwoofer output on the deck set? Are you playing it at full volume?

Have subwoofer setting on head unit set at 12/12

Volume is around 20/50

turn your sub gain down to half that and set your gains with a dmm then see how it sounds...if its still crappy sounding the other sub could be messed up as well

definately need to turn down the sub output...are these subs new? did you break them in at all?

Yea...they only have a couple hours of use.

what is your SSF set at...its from 20-50htz.....should be set at about 30htz

Sub sonic filter....cuts off notes below whatever you set it at? I believe that you should not go below 1/2 octave below tuning

sounds like you have something fishy going on.....what deck do you have? Did you have any luck with setting the gains by DMM?

Didnt do the dmm yet...still gotta buy one...are you sure the sub setting on the head unit should be at 6/12?
