Recently I have 2-12" Alpine Type X's. Got a custom vented box built to specs. Man they sounded amazing, especially when I bought a PA2200d to push those massive sexy subs. I put my 2-12" 2005 L7's back in 2 days ago just for kicks to hear what they sounded like with the new PA2200d. WHEWW!!!!! Man them L7's HIT. Hit hard. Which I already knew, but it just reminded me how much I enjoy SPL.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif The X's sound great don't get me wrong , but them L'7s just kick you right in the chest. Any of you guys recommend the 2006 L7s over the 05' L7s? I'm hearing that they can handle more power and sound better doing it. Is this true? Are they worth me selling my 05's and getting the 06's? Any info will be much appreciated.

Man if those Type X's had the kick those L7's have they would be the ultimate subwoofer. But I guess there are some subs out there that fit that discription. Can anyone list a few to give me some idea's for maybe some future purchases. Thanks.

toxic tuan is selling some blueprint subs and they look massive. 1000 rms 25 mm one way linear excursion. makes for massive **** lol. they look pretty beasty im waiting on his price list. when i here something from him ill let you know. also the 06 l7 is an awesome sub handles a little more power but the looks department had a great makeover.i was told they are a little more dependable this year. i never had a problem with them before but others have i guess. good luck and if interested in the blueprints ill get back at you with details or you can pm toxic tuan.

Any other recomendations? Replace the 05' L7s for the 06' L7's? Is there that much of a diffrence? Or should I just stay with what I got?

And any suggestions on a sub that would have the SQ of the Type X and the SPL of the L7?

Yes I had the 2 type x's in a ported enclosure built to the specs that Alpine recomended. They sounded great in SQ. I just could'nt get them to get that loud and throw that punch out at ya like the L7's do. Now if I would not have had the

L7's prior to the X's I probably would have been a 100% satisfied with the X's.

the blueprints sound good and get loud. I have one

they are very similar to the RE HC with the exception it is a SVC 4 ohm (limits your power choices) unless you run 2 of them. They get nice and low too btw

It would probably be worth it in the long run depending on how you treat your subs but based on the power that you currently have, I would just keep the 05

L7s.

Honestly the new l7s sound about the same as last years models. They can handle much more power though, as my new 15s can handle 2kw daily each... The tinsel leads are also woven into the spider, which is a plus.. With your power you wont notice much if any difference between the 2. Now if you were to step it up with more power, then I would suggest the 06 models...
