The Illest...
Ok...I have two Alpine Type Rs that need to go into a Q Logic box that I have...so the wiring I got from the box doesnt connect to the wiring I have for the Subs...so what do I do...is there something I need to buy or do I splice them!? Please Help

Thanks, Jeremy

I took a pic of the two wires, look in the gallery

The two wires with the bannana plugs on them I am going to assume came with the subs. They are not meant to connect to the box but rather are meant to connect the sub's voicecoils to eachother to configure the dual voicecoils of the sub for different impedences. To explain to you how to set everything up we need a bit more info.

What coil configuration are the subs, Dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm?

What amp are you hooking them up to?

Once we have that we can tell you exactly what you need to do.

They are Dual 4 Ohm
I have a Legacy LA1870 1800w 2 Channel Amp, I dunno if that can work for them so really Im not sure.
According to the manual (available in .pdf file format on Legacy's site) your amp is rated for 150w X 2 @ 4 Ohm stereo / 230w X 2 @ 2 Ohm stereo / *given bridged rating is 1800w X 1* I'll assume bridged RMS output is allegedly 460w X 1 @ 4 Ohm mono briged.

Knowing Legacy's years-long track record I will also assume that these figures are somewhat optimistic.

For the sake of argument let's say that amp will do 200w X 2 @ 2 Ohm stereo or 400w X 1 @ 4 Ohm mono bridged.

Having Dual 4 Ohm subwoofers and that amp your best best is to either wire each subwoofer to a 2 Ohm nominal load (see here for wiring details) and run each off of its own stereo amp channel

or

Wire both subs together to a nominal impedence of 4 Ohms combined and run the amp in bridged mono mode (see here for wiring details)

Either way you're going to be giving each Type R in the neighborhood of 200 watts and while they will play....that's not enough power to make the most of the R's potential. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Sad but true.

What Amp or Amps should I use....I dont want to spend alot of money, I just bought a car so yea
What's a proposed budget? johnecon's suggestion of Profile, to me, was right on the money. I know nothing personally about Lanzar so I'll leave you to your own devices on that one but Profiles are really tough to beat for the money.

If you buy through Crutchfield (yeah, I know - retail pricing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif ) Profile amps come with a 3yr warranty and to me ~ that's just awesome.
