alright, i've been on these boards reading posts for the last month or so and you guys have already helped me a ton whether you realized it or not. but, i decided its time for me to ask a few of my own questions.
i drive a 98 honda civic coupe (17" konigs, 2" eibach's, etc.. [its my baby //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif]) with a stock altenator. my first car stereo system is sort of being spread out over the summer as i get the money i need. so, as of right now, i have an Alpine CDA-7998 installed... and that's it lol. but i've got an alpine mrv-t420 (2x110w at 4ohms) on the way. i'm still in the dark as to whether or not i'll need to change out my altenator, even after reading several threads on this topic. i hear honda stock altenators are weak, but are they too weak to power 220w rms? after i buy my comps. i'll be putting in a 12 in. sub and amp in the trunk, but i figure that will only be another 300w rms more. will i definately need to get a new altenator once i get to that point? any help would be great, i'm lost with this electrical system stuff. and you might be thinking i payed way to much for a HU to be this new to car audio. you're probably right too... i just have this problem with buying something if i know i could do a little better. so i spent like 600 bucks and had to set and look at a cool screen for about a month due to it's lack of an int. amp. but, all that said, i'd say it was still worth it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
