So I have a couple question to ask, maybe the people who have been thru a similar experience.

The girlfriend and I are looking to move out west after growing up in Pennsylvania all our lives.

Financially we will be ok and have a respectable amount of money saved up.

What would be your plan of action of obtaining a temporary place to live?

Keep in mind we won't actually be able to spend any time out there between now and when we move.

If you've shared this type of experience please feel free to give me some pointers.

Thank you

she should be able to get work quick.

You could bring a tent and camp until you find a place.

That would probably be the cheapest way unless you have a van to sleep in.

Haha, we'll have enough money to pay rent up front for awhile.

loL.
Why would you move to Rapid?

I mean its a very beautiful area, but it is one of the most expensive places in the state to live as far as the price of housing.
Haha, I know that. I've done a fair amount of research.

I live in a place where property taxes are 3000+ a year.

Property values are comparable to here. Pennington County has some expensive properties and the taxes are high, but Custer, Lawrence, Meade and Fall River counties are a little bit more reasonable.

Rapid City is a growing area, and although prices are high comapred to the rest of the state they are reasonable comapred to what I'm used to seeing here. Also buying a home and property out there would be a sound investment with the growth the area is seeing.

Have you considered Aberdeen?

There are a lot of jobs in Aberdeen. I know the nursing homes are always looking for CNAs and they are building a new beef processing plant that will employee something like 800 people. The job market is good in Aberdeen and housing costs less.
