ok so im in the process of wiring my headunit.. i have the factory amp bypassed with an adapter i bought.. but heres my question

im supposed to match color to color

i have a blue wire(antenna) and a blue/white wire(power to amp).. and on the headunit i also have both of those wires.. now obviously the solid blue one will be hardwired to the solid blue one from my headunit.. but i dont know what to do with my blue/white one.. do i connect it to the remote wire running back to my amp? and if i do that do i just ignore the blue/white wire coming from my HU?

im thinking if i did that then my factory amp wouldnt get powered on when the HU is on.. do i have to split it to hardwire it to both the HU and to the remote wire running back to my amp?

The blue/white wire not coming from the head unit is the remote turn-on lead from the factory amp...you want to wire your own into the one coming from the head unit, as that's how your amps will be switched...power antenna is optional depending on whether or not you have one, of course //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

1) You dont always match color to color. Usually though, but always give it a quick looking over to make sure because wal-mart and a couple other places are selling these uber chepa dekcs that dont follow aftermarket wire colors right.

2) The answere to your question depends. the solid blue wires are power antenna wires. Most cars dont have power antennas but some dont have them and still have the wire. If you dont have a popwer antennas chances are you dont need to hook it up, but if its there you can just hook it up to be safe. The blue with white stripe is remote turn on. If your bypassing the factory amp anyways, you can just hook it to the remote turn on your running to the aftermarket amp and cap the car-side one off. If the car has more than one amp or youre using the factory amp you can hook the radio-side one to both the remote turn on car-side and the one you run to the back. Soem cars you can also go right to the amp in the back(if its there) and tap the remote line back there.. it save you the hassle of running it back. Good example is the ford taurus
