150 will get you a true 700w to 1000w class D mono amp that's more efficient.

Then you will have to save more, at least 100 or 150.

Aren't class D's more efficient in general? The alpine mrv-m500 which is regarded as a descent efficient amp can be bought for $130 brand new. There going for 50-70 used on ebay.

Yes, those are decent amps, and if you can find one, at that price point, get it.
