what your missing is the fact that an electrical current does not run through a wire it runs on the surface so the more strands you have the more surface area you have allowing current to pass easily along the surface that has like 15 strands compared to say RF wire with 4,000 some odd strands which one do you think will pass current better?
I am not a wire expert , but I would have to guess the reason they use the wire I have, is for transfering AC voltage better and safer. So I fiqure if it is good for 600 volts AC, it can't be bad for 14.4 volts DC . Beside resistance takes the easy path so how much different can the wir be for transferring current? I never heard anything about how the current travels on the wire , and if true I think it will travel faster on 15 strands vs 40 thousand just because there are less strands interupting the flow.
