You're right I can't explain why *he* thinks caps are bad...but I can and have on numerous occasions explained why I *know* that they're useless.99% of people here cant even explain why you think caps are bad.ibthebashing
Do you know the purpose of the first outboard caps installed in cars? Hint: current delivery had nothing to do with its purpose.Your better off with an extra battery but caps served a purpose when the car audio hobby started. Now with the advent of hi-output alt.s, numerous batt.s and more efficient amps the cap ends up with all the other audio gear sold by the media hype of car audio manufactures.
Never remember these being anything resembling "must haves" but at least they have a tangible effect.Example:
phase shifters
Never marketed to the average consumer. Always more of a competitors' item.noise gates
Again never marketed to any but the "audiophile" and if you knew what to use them for they had tangible benefits as well, especially in the days of cheap onboard D/A circuits and weak preouts.DA to analog converters
Bass Blockers?Do you know the purpose of the first outboard caps installed in cars? Hint: current delivery had nothing to do with its purpose.
The input stage of amplifiers does indeed have caps. but, if the amp still needed another farad of capacitance, don't you think the manufacturer would have added it themselves? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Besides, amps have arrays of smaller caps, not these huge inefficient caps people are hooking up these days.what about the caps in amps and other electronics? tehehehehe
Why do you have a tank on an air compressor?I still don't understand why people want to add more batteries instead of just improving the source.
