Just to stir the pot a bit, pulp paper cones actually give the best mass/weight to strength performance of any material currently being used for speaker cones. Makes you wonder why some manufacturers are 'upgrading' to fancy newer materals like alum and titanium. (hint: marketing)
This is not to say alum and tit cone subs cannot or do not perform well, they certain can and do. But sometimes I read these cone breaking threads and just wonder why the industry is even at this point.
