The Aura's are definitely something I have considered and they are very appealing. The problem is that I almost think an Aura MR18 would be a downgrade in volume to what I have now. And that just isn't something I'm willing to take.In my opinion, a lot of people claiming the 5400 are the most accurate drivers ever are:a) Employees at TC Sounds
b) Friends of Employees at TC Sounds
c) Fans of the company who have never heard the driver
Of course, I haven't heard the driver myself, but I would venture that while BL and Cms compression is pretty slim to none, there are simply zero high xmax drivers that I have considered the most accurate. There are certain disadvantages of a large coil (particularly the very large ones used on the LMS drivers) that are just hard to beat.
If I were to pick a sub that was the most accurate, it would likely be something underhung, like the Aura MR's, which give you adequate Xmax, low inductance, and relatively flat BL; the only downside is the cost, but if you're considering the LMS-5400's, I doubt that's an issue. There is something to be said for low inductance, low Mms designs.
And perhaps most importantly, there is even less experience with the Aura's to go around than with the LMS. It would be close to a shot in the dark.
