well I got a $120 CD Player (an Awia) and its great....except after I go over 10 on the volume (40) being the max the speakers start to crackle. Then when I turn H-Bass off they are fine up to 15 but it sounds quiet (on both 10 and 15) and like crap BTW. So I have question. Is the CD player not correctly hooked up to the harness or do I need a subwoofer? The CD Player has a built in amp BTW. What would be a good subwoofer, just so I could get the music a bit louder (to about 20-25) without it crackling and with H-Bass on? I want the music to sound a little bit above "good" but I dont want to spend a fortune to make it sound perfect.....just enough to listen to my music a little bit loud. I have a 1995 Ford Aerostar BTW.

BTW Im not a car junkie but the box says:

"High Quality- S/N 100dB+"

and

"High Power- 52w x 4"

I have an Aiwa cd player and they only setting you can use that won't clip the on board amp is "flat" with no H-Bass. The actual power of the deck is around 19watts RMS per channel.

The internal EQ and h-Bass only work when the volume is below 20, anything over 20 and you need to shut the eq and H-bass

If you hooked up an external amp and sub then put bass caps on you're speakers you would get a big improvment in sound.

I have a CDC-X304.......got it for 99.99 on Crutchfield.......Is their anyway to play it over 20 without crackle....another board siad to replace all my stock speakers (I have a van so about 12 speakers) with better aftermarket ones and then get an amp and then some subs. This is gonna be a pain in the *** seeing how Im only 16 and work 3 1/2 days of the week (Tuesday, Friday, Saturday mornign and Night) as a dishwasher/bar cleaner/beer shoot cleaner. I only make $90 a week so this will be a pain, especially seeign how I have to pay for insurance and buy new rear brake drums and shoes.

Most likely a conversion van...only thing I could think of with that many speakers.

Out of those 12 speakers, 10 are unnecessary //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Disconnect all but 4 speakers, theres no way that the amp in that HU will get even close to powering 12 speakers.

Just keep 2 larger ones in front and 2 larger ones in the rear, place a bass cap on the positive input for each speaker and add an amp and sub.

1995 Ford Aerostar..........Let see, I'll add them up (it might not be 12, I might have been exagerrating)

Ok here it goes:

2 on the dash

1 for the passanger and drivers side each (2 combined)

Thats 4 in the front

Then 2 on the sliding door (that doesnt open BTW)

Then 2 on the opposite side

Then 2 more furthur back

Then finally 2 on the hatch

Thats 12

BTW my boss is giving me original thick *** shag carpet for it. Im puttign couches and bean bag chairs (along with posters) in the back too. Thats why Im pissed Im spendign so much on making the audio so it wont crackle.

We need pics. As a fellow shaggin'-wagon driver, I know your situation //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Disconnect all the speakers except the front ones. Those are all you need, trust me.

SWEET that makes it better. Is it a pain in the *** to do this? Or do I just need a wiring harness? How much will this cost approx? Whats the best palce to buy?
You manually run the wires from the HU to each speaker, yes a pain but it is worth it.

THAT SUCKS........I **** at wiring and shit. I needed help (I know nothing about car audio systems BTW) with putting ym car reciever in. How mcuh would Car Stereo shops charge me to put them in?
