If you had to choose between an RE SE15, RE SX15 and an Fi Q15, which would you go for?

I can get the Q for $280, the SX for $270, and the SE for $200. Only limitation is how much power I can feed it. I only have a PDX1.600 right now, so only ~650wRMS. The SE is rated at 600RMS, so that would be perfect, but the Q and SX are rated at 1000RMS.

I'd like to go ported if possible, and I'd like to know what the box dimensions/tuning would be for either sub?

Thanks in advance guys, I know this is a topic that has been discussed, but my requirements are a bit different than others.

Buuump. Is it worth the $70 difference between the SE and the Q to go for the Q? Also, will either one of these retain the quickness and accurate-ness when it comes to double bass and rhythm that my Dayton HO10 offers? ...I don't mind giving up some of those traits for the *significant* gain in output that I expect from the new woofer, but I'd prefer as much of an "SQL" woofer as possible.

I'll still be holding onto the Dayton for the time being and swapping it out with the new sub for winter. When the windows are up, the HO10 has plenty of output for me and sounds great doing it, plus I use my trunk a lot in the winter for trips back and forth to college.

So again, buuump.

SE if you keep that amp, SX if you go bigger.
The only real difference between the SX and SE is the coil (8-layer vs. 4-layer) correct? So that is why the SX can handle more power... but since I only have 600RMS on tap, and will *most* likely not be upgrading my 1.600 to a 1.1000 for at least another year, the SE would be the most logical solution out of those two correct?

I'd still like to hear more opinions on the options... Fi Q 15, RE SE 15, and SSA Icon 15... all are still in the air.

Q = $280

SE = $200

Icon = $270

I think they're all so similar that the end result wouldn't be much different no matter which way you go... but I say still Icon, just because.
Haha, damn man you're tag teaming me on here and DIYMA //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I'm going to download WinISD again and try my best to model out the various drivers that I'm torn between just to practice and see what I should do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm hoping to buy this by the end of the coming week.

Get me the ts parameters for all of them and I'll model them too, just for the hell of it. We can compare notes afterwards if you like.
Alright man...

for the RE SE (D4):

Electrical Q Value -Qes: 0.55

Mechanical Q Value -Qms: 4.3

Total Speaker Q Value -Qts: 0.49

Free Air Resonance -Fs: 22 Hz

Equivalent Compliance -Vas: 209 liters

One-Way, Linear Excursion -Xmax: 18 mm

Efficiency -SPL 1W/1m: 88 dB SPL

Effective Piston Area -Sd: 810 cm^2

DC Resistance -Re: 2.8 ohm

Nominal Impedance -Znom: Dual 2/4 ohm

Thermal Power Handling -Pe: 600 W

Force Factor -Bl: 17.7

Moving Mass -Mms: 229g

for the SSA Icon (D2):

Fs 26.4

Qms 6.01

Qes .48

Qts .45

Mms 262

Sd 810 cm^2

Vas 127.8 l

Bl 16.4

Re 2.8 (SSA doesn't say and I couldn't find it, so I kept it constant with the RE)

Spl 88.7 1W/1m

Xmax 20.5mm

Wattage: 1000RMS

for the Fi Q (D2):

Fs: 24.9 Hz

Re: 1.4 Ohms/coil

Qms: 5.72

Qes: .54

Qts: .49

Mms: 279g

Cms: 0.15mm/N

Sd: 810cm^2

Vas: 135 l

Spl: 87.7dB 1W/1m

Bl: 15.1 N/A

Xmax: 27mm

Rms: 1000W

Sealed box: 2-2.6 cuft

Ported box: 2.8-4 cuft @ 28-33Hz

Sub OD: 15.625”

Cut ID: 14.125”

Mounting depth: 8.500”

Displacement: 0.19cuft

Displacement: 0.19cuft

For the SE I got ~91dB's at 500W on the SPL graph

For the Icon I got ~89dB's at 500W on the SPL graph

For the Q I got ~90.7dB's at 500W on the SPL graph

I'll model these up tomorrow and check back with you. I've got somewhere I have to be tonight...
Thanks man, I finished up modeling them and posted in the previous post the SPL numbers that I came up with. In the Advanced Parameters of the database editor, the SPLmaxLF (which is supposed to be the theoretical maximum potential), they each score as follows:

SE: 103.84

Icon: 104.97

Q: 107.36

I'm going to model up the HO10 right now and see how it compares.
