No, it is not just a motor. It is a full subwoofer, which that pic is of. It does not look like a subwoofer in the traditional sense. That big flat panel is the cone. It's suspension is a set of copper "springs" (behind the cone...you can't see them). It does not have a surround. But yes, it is a full subwoofer, as that pic shows.
