If u could ask GOD 1 question......

Nick shipped it off Tuesday evening. The estimated delivery date is tomorrow, and as of now, it still shows the same thing.-Marcus

I definately wouldnt worry about the fed ex thing. Do you think the guys over at SI just randomly pick people to scam...? NO...

Don't worry about it.

But to get back to the point, my question would be something along the lines of - Why do we hate? Why do groups such as Arabs and Israelies, or Serbs and Albanians, and dozens of other ethnic groups pitted against each other, often in the name of God.
The name of God, in whatever form it may take, has killed many times over the number that it has saved. Why?

I'd say that has something to do with free choice.

In a theological sense it's still a valid question. Why would god allow such a thing to occur? Doe he not love all his children equally, and as such should he not protect them all from the aggressions of another?

Because if he prevented someone from doing something he would be infringing on their freewill. I know what you mean though. Why do us people have to be as evil as we are. It really makes me sick when I think about it sometimes. Speaking of Canada, I hear there are some problems up there. It's not perfect up there either. I was hearing that there are major immigration problems up there. It is actually worse than the problems the U.S. is having. But I'm off topic so I'll stop here.

I'm not a bible thumping type even though this post may sound like it, but I do have a strong belief, I just dont live quite right at this moment in time is all.....
B_Master_Flash, it's called faith. Easy to believe in something thats sitting right in front of you. I believe this computer that I'm typing on is right here. I dont see God right in front of me, but I see his handing guiding things around me each and every day. Its just a matter of what you want to believe. Maybe there isn't a God. Maybe there is no afterlife. The way I look at it though is if I try to adhere to his teachings and do the best I can, I sure haven't lost anything, and have lived a much better life because of it. If I die and am rewarded for the life I've lived by eternal life in heaven, then it'll all be worth it. It's a win-win either way. Without that, I could still live a good life, but if I died and there is a helll, and I ended up there, I think I'd be REAL sorry I didn't go that extra mile. Just me though, not trying to push religion onto anyone.
Thats probably the best answer I've heard.

What do you mean by problems up here? We welcome immigration. It builds our nation. It's part of our policy.
What about gun control? Your country has some pretty strict regulations even on pellet guns. How hard is it to buy and own firearms and what kinds can you own?

Everything is fine now, as Fedex's tracking results finally updated.. And nor did I ever think for a second, that anyone at SI was ripping me off. I was simply worried that Fedex had misplaced my package or something on their part.

It's not really that tough. I can go get my licenses and own firearms. There are some hoops you have to jump through, but they also seem to result in far lower gun death rates //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well I do have a license to carry a loaded handgun for personal protection. but you dont need a license to buy, you just have to have a pretty clean record. As far as gun related deaths there are really not as many as most people think. You are far more likely to die from medical malpractice than a gun. Besides gun control does not negativly affect criminals since most of there guns are obtained illegally so they can not be traced.

I know canada does have a law for guns that states that you must have a license to own anything that shoots above 500 fps i think, which is kind of retarded since there is a big difference between a 15 gr projectile going 500 fps than a 200 gr projectile going 500 fps

almost 29 thousand firearm deaths in teh united states in 2000.

over 1100 were homocides or accidental deaths.

1999 stats in canada, about 1000.

About 22% of homes in Canada own at least one gun, that works out to about 7million guns spread among about 10 million homes. We have plenty of guns. Just less killing. Figure that one out.

If you look at the stats guns save lots lots lots lots huge many more lives than have been taken.

As for immigration you are having the problem that I have feared in the U.S. People are welcomed over. Anyone that wants to come may come. If they can't get a job then they use your social systems. The problem is the working people are getting tired of it. The system is being run down. So many people are coming in that background checks can't be done. Terrorists are popping up in Canada now due to this. On top of all this the muslim community is growing and the immigrants are gaining huge voting power. So when politicians talk policy they cater to all the new immigrants. The immigrant base that can't find jobs is growing so the politicians in order to get in office vow to keep social programs working and do whatever is necesssary to cover the needs of those that are unemployed. The working class is pissed because they have to pay for it and are outnumbered in voting size. Canada is now trying to tighten up on background checks with cooperation with the U.S. to reduce the possibility of terrorist coming in.

Interesting point of view.
I'm just saying, most people respond by trying to disprove what science says about the universe, evolution, etc. which is a total waste of time. I like his answer better, that it can't hurt to live your life like there is a god. I been to church plenty of times and I think it's a great thing, but I just can't any of their beliefs to heart b/c science hasn't left much room for a god IMO.
