Pick up your A+ Cert. Take on some part time work with a vendor that support the large companies, i.e.: Dell, Lenovo, Apple, etc... I work approximately 24hrs in a 2 week span. I make $300-$500 every 2 weeks.

You can do drop ship companies, or start your own business, meet up with local wholesale warehouse etc... Build up your business networks.

A+ cert/Associates degree in related field, he can work part time for companies that Dell, Lenovo, Apple outsource to. I've worked with SMARTECH and WWTS. SMARTECH don't pay worth **** but they keep you busy. WWTS has decent pay, but they limit me because I'm part time.
The young man is still in school, that's why I said A+.

Datacenters are always looking for on call technicians with minimum certificates. Thats how i got into softlayer/the planet other then working at hostgator

Get a tip job. I swear to you. Its the most profitable min wage job out there. You have to have your license for 2 years to work at dominos atleast but i would make my hourly wage ontop of 30-70 dollars a night in tips. No taxes on tips. At min at 5 hours a day. 150$ in tips every week on top of the wages. That minimum. Take out what your paying for gas and you have your profit. **** was profitable as hell.

I have thought about a delivery job. I might try and work at like an Outback Steakhouse or sometihng like that and work friday and saturday night's only.

Places don't really pay more than minimum wage here that are 17 years old. Very very picky here sadly.

Not many jobs for highs school students pay more.

I make $9.00 an hour at my summer jobs before taxes, which is 75 cents more than minimum wage. However, one is a field worker pollinating/detassling corn and the other is a farm hand at a horse stable. Both are way harder than working at Kmart in air conditioning, lol. The jobs outside are more fun though, and I get really tan
