id oem users???

I do not have those mids but it sounds like either a wiring issue, a gain setting issue or a crossover setting issue. Can you run another mid or speaker free-air off of the amp and see what happens or even an enclosed speaker. I can send roughly 150 to some type R comps with very little issue especially from the mids. Try to narrow it down with trial and error. Is speaker connection loose is it both speakers? Are the wires secured at the amp very well? Do you have some bass boost or EQ jacking the signal up at certain freq?

gain set with plenty of head room no bb peq is flat cross over is set at 80 24db slope all the wirng is good. i think it has to be that the door isnt sealed up very good and a semi low crossover. i guess ill have to figure out a way to seal upthat big hole

It is not the best way best way but you can put a couple of layers of dynamat across the hole which will help keep the rear wave from coming through completely. You could even put a board that fills most of the hole on the dynamat to give it some stiffness then put another layer on the other side sort of sandwiching the half inch mdf board. It will not be perfect but better. I had to do this and it worked just fine.

i had a similar problem when free airing my id oems.

As soon as i put them in there fiberglass door pods they handled much better.

My x-over is at 80 hz with a 24db slope but they will bottom out at high volume in the lower frequencies.

amp im running is an orion 8004 they should be seeing about 100 watts each

they are sealed off from the rear wave because i have the mid on mdf baffles extruding through the door panel i thought about just usin deadener but its a big hole like 3 sq ft or more.

im would like to do door pods but im not sure i have the skill to make it look right

try to change your slpoe to 18db, your 6 1/2 mids aren't subs, 24db is making them go low.

18db you will have more of your upper midbass, plus lower midbass, then you can play with the xover points.

did you say what type of car or trunk that you have??

you can google your car & i bet someone has deaden those doors, if you look you will find!

18db will make them play lower than 24db, you have it backwards
