Looks like a fun experiment to me. I'd be interested in doing something like that myself, but now that I have a few $$ I have no time.

You might be out ~$500 from the outset, but once you've proven or disproven your theory you should be able to get 1/2, maybe more of it back (ebay).

Stick with the Boss HU. I think that will be the least of the problems.

OCS had a couple other options for front speakers w/o spending much more.

I would consider a little bit bigger amp for the fronts -- that 400.2 might only do 50-60w per ch. considering the 20A fuse.

The sub amp seems about right -- I could see getting 600 or so out of that.
