IB Setup configuration?

To give you an idea... I'm gunna make a front baffle, much like ragnaroksq, except since my driver is taller than the height of my trunk (I have a short trunk, the tallest part is 15". I'm gunna angle the top part of the baffle, and then use weather stripping and caulk and what not to seal off the main parts, as well as expandable foam on the sides (where people run their wires, inbetween the cab and the outer skin), then put some wood there, and seal it up. I'm gunna line my whole trunk with wood, and make sure it's nice and sealed, then I'm going to make an amp-rack sort of deal... so there's gunna be wood all across my trunk... perfect for an urban mural. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I'm using the expandable foam, and caulking to fill in all the gaps, things like that, but I don't need to go fancy with the angles. Or lining the trunk up. I am putting a second baffle on the underside of the deck, however, to hide the rough edges, as I'm too lazy to try and smooth down all the metal, don't think it would be easy, and carpeting it to match.

I do wish my rear deck was slightly bigger though. I won't be able to fit any twelves in at all - I can barely get the ten in. I also had to remove my rear taillight in the window. After I install the sub, I'll see about making a mount for it myself that gets it out of the way. And bolts it down so it doesn't rattle :p

So... Got back from my trip this weekend. Oddly, I'm going to try and finish this tonight, but driving around, it was noticeably louder with the hole in the rear deck.

I meant with the hole in the rear deck, with the subwoofer still in it's standard box.

:p

Just finished it up. I'll post pictures, when I can take them and it's not dark. Looks pretty good, except I was lazy and used clippers to get the thin piece of plywood, with the cloth finish over the rear deck, I just clipped the hole in it. So it's a little uneven. Used a nice piece of 3/4" MDF to put the baffle on, and I've caulked some holes, duct taped the rest, used the rest of my MDF to go straight across the back to seal the section against the seats. When I can clean it up, I will. Probably pretty soon. Little late tonight though.

Haven't got a chance to listen to it yet - will post opinions soon.

Well, impressions: clear and precise sound. Blends EXCELLENTLY with music, particularly rock. Definitely enjoy it much more.

Several rap songs sound like crap now - the lower bass hits aren't so pronounced. So if you just listen to rap, this isn't for you.

However, I love the sound. Clear as a bell, flat response, and it still manages to make most songs sound perfect - much better than before. And it looks quite cool to look back and see the sub pounding.
