IA DR 15" single ported box help

I need some help designing a box for a single 15" IA Deathrow sub. Size does not matter as long as it fits in the trunk of a 2000 maxima.

I'm guessing i would be better off going with a 4 cubes net volume box beucase it would be louder than a 3.5 correct? What about port square inches?

3.5-4 cubes NET volume, tuned to ~33hz with 30-50 square inches of port

Actually i did post in the IA forums and i have not gotten any post from anybody with IA DR's. I know there's a couple of people on this forum with them but one of them has 4 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif and the other has 2.

IA recommends the follow:

"2.75 cubes - 4.0 cubes, 36 - 64 Inches of Port, 32-37 Hz"

I would like to make the box geared more towards SQ. How does 3.8 cubes 34HZ sound? Not sure on the Port size.

Anybody want to build me a box?

How accurate are the free boxes? I was going to pick this one and build it myself.

port is on the small side if IA is recommending 16^2 per cube.

Here are the specs for the box. Hows it look? Going to probably run 1000-1200rms watts.

-32.4Hz tuning

-3.97 cubic feet (before sub displacement)

-56.25 sq inches of port area

The DR will work good in 3.5-4.5 cube with about 60-80sq in of port tuned around 38-40 hz.What kind of music?

Why the higher tuning?

Tuning is kinda music dependant but 35-40 is a good range.As for the sub its an excellant SQL sub.It gets loud but also still sounds musical not all muddled together.

Hmmm I guess i could tune it a little higher. I was thinking 34hz to begin with but i still want to be able to listen to rock and other types of music. But sense i mostly listen to rap i would benefit from a higher tune, correct?

Tuning around 35 hz you would probably peak around 43hz which means basically your bandpass would be from 35 hz to say 45 that is where you will get the most output rom the box.All songs are different so you want a happy medium which is why I suggested the 35-40 anything lower and you start limiting yourself on the types of music that will sound good.You don't want a crazy low tuning and not be able to listen to anything over 30hz.
