I am going to buy two American Bass 12's and would like to know from someone who knows more than myself on which one's I should be buying. I am looking at the American Bass TnT 12's and the American Bass XFL 12'". The XFL's are around $75.00 more than the TnT so I was wondering If I really needed to step up to the XFL's?

I am not sure if their is a big difference other than the watt's they will take. I am running a 1200 watt mono Amp so I was thinking the TnT would fit better because they say 600RMS but should I get those or will I need a little wiggle room from the XFL that takes 1000RMS?

Does any one know if it is a major boost running the XFL over the TnT line of subs? Thank's a lot for the help and advice

I just bought @rebelfromva XFL 12 off him and I have also built for a couple others with them. I know they are very pleased with this sub. I'd talk to them about em but, they seem very happy. I believe he did 148.6 this weekend on 1 of them? :)

Thanks for the replies and no I was not asking if the XFL is better, I know it is better, it has a 220 Oz magnet, will take more watts and cost more. I was asking............since I do not have a amp that will be doing the 2000 Watts that the XFL's will take would I see a difference by still buying the XFL or would I be just as happy using the AB TnT sub's which will take 1200watts, which is the amount my Amp does.

Well im pretty sure the tnt's replaced the american bass sq series of their subs. So I am assuming they are geared more so for sq. The xfls sound pretty good but you will need to put them in a fairly large ported box to get the best output from them as possible with that wattage. Overall you can't go wrong with either imo but in the right box the xfls should be a little louder.

If you think you will be doubling up on amp power in the near future, go with the XFL, If you plan to keep the same power, go with the TNT. If SQL is a part of your goal, go with TNT. The size of the magnet, basket design, ability to handle more wattage, etc. does not make a sub better. On given power and box design, it is the sub's ability to reproduce music that determines which one is better. Depending on your goals and system design, a different brand may be the better choice....and I am not trying to sway you from AB... just stating the truth.
