Like a couple of weeks ago i heard this guy blarring his music which sounded great. It was like a 97 Suburban, the morel of the story is that he was like 50-70yards away and i could hear his system loud and clear. I mean i could hear like what Mike Jones was sayin and the beat very well, and not to leave out how the bass was hitting so clean. I would have to say thats one of the best dounding systems ive heard in my area and i dont hear to many. But i was just wondering what it waould take to get my system on his level? I was just so amazed by the distance he was from me and how loud and clear his system was it really shocked me. Also his front two windows were down

most likely his front stage was amped and he had a good component set and he probly had multiple subs and since it was in a suv cabin gain helped alot also big windows help music to carry ( take a look at meca drive by vehicles ) hope that helps

mines sound pretty good but **** his was just outrageously loud and clear. iwas thinking about upgrading my pioneers 6x9's, and 6.5" to something else and im getting the Zapco 360.4, do those RE 6.5's get real loud and what you think would get real loud off that amp. Ive got 4 way 6.5 and 2 way 6xp the pioneer REV

arent the re 6.5s a pure midbass driver? if so u need a tweeter set to go with it for your own mix and matched component set.... i hear good things about the dana audio stuff and a silk tweet > metal dome tweet , but i cannot vouch for any of this since i have never built a sq setup or even added a tweet... i guess im jsut spl at heart

he most likely had some fullrange 8\10\12's to be honest. when you get up close - they are super harsh and sound like crap most of the time. its possible for them to sound good - but usually all those guys care about is how far away they can be and it get loud for some reason. and i dont understand that.

and on top of that - if you want your "music" to be loud from that disatnce, you should be robbed. your music is for YOU unless you are at a concert and people are paying for a gathering - and it is out of range of people who do not want to hear what you believe is cool and what they believe is garbage.

how annoying.

yeah, people used to tell me they could clearly hear words a block away on my first system. All it was, highest eclipse comps, eclipse 5303, PG m44 and two eclipse 10's sealed. I always thought it was because it was a small reg cab ranger. This was in like 1998 though ;p

dam i miss that system, to bad it was all stolen ;(

same thing is happenin to me....but everything but the bass travels in my truck...which is kindof good lol and once i install my other stuff i dont think my comps will travel that much

Doubt it. No offense, but this is in Dayton.

Also, no offense to the original poster either. Where was this? Like near Gettysburg or something? What is it around the "h00ds" of Ohio...people loading like 6 coaxials AND tweeters in each door...driving around blairing it and people thinking it's cool. It's actually quite gay.

You need to hear a REAL setup...wish you were around when I came up to Dayton man...I had MASS people shitting their pants...for real. Guys jumping out of my truck b/c it was "too loud"...with one sub.

Anyways...I'd recommend an active setup with plenty of power.

well first of all, from what you heard its not too hard. Highs are directional and more than likely had the tweets mounted high on the dash or sail panels. If it was properly setup with good imaging, you'd never even heard the tweets or not like that. He's wasting alot of music to let you enjoy the music from 50ft away.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif Also like someone said up in the car is probably sounds like &$$ and it too top heavy with no mids. As far as the bass goes, its not hard to hear the subs just get good subs. But get components, a good amp, set the gains right and have the setup installed well and you'll be off to making other people happy from 50ft away.
