Me, Personally, I would find more of a mixed martial arts class if I could. I took all kinds of different martial arts as a kid. I grew up at an age when Ninja Turtles then power rangers rained king so at that age I demanded my parents let me take those classes and since I was a spoiled brat they did. I ended up quitting most the different ones I took though because most of them d were really partial to the whole self discipline aspect of martial arts and I was a ninja turtle, I just wanted to learn how to kick some ***. Now here I am 6 months later (JK) and I have been doing an actual MMA class for about a year and it’s completely different. No wasted time on self discipline and other garbage like that(if that’s what you are into that’s cool, its just not what I was looking for…). You just get in the gym and bust your ***. Hour of boxing, hour of BJJ and then an hour of open gym. There is not a problem with the whole self discipline thing but even before I started the MMA , I tried just BJJ and (I know this has to do with the specific gym you are in) was more into every other part of the martial art besides the actual skill of fighting and that was lame to me. I wanted the *** hole "coach" (whatever you want to call him) working my *** off and really testing me mentally which is what I get at my current gym. From my experiences anything other then an actual MMA gym was like taking a ****ing eastern religion glass mixed with knitting. Super boring...
Once again these are MY personal experiences and of course will be different depending on what gym you go to. So take from it what you will.
