maybe it was the user?Sony amps ****. I have two and both have failed twice each and had to be repaired. I hate Sony period. Every time I buy any thing made by SONY it dies. or a part of it stops working. Last i checked ( a few years ago) sony had one of the worst failure rates provided by Consumer Guide.
Sony can stick their weak *** products up their weak ***.
As Prowler said...CEA 2006 is completely voluntary. No company is required to comply with the standard. But if a company does use the standard, there are certain testing parameters that must be upheld when determining things such as rated power output. Which means the amplifier should indeed output atleast 900w @ 2ohm with 14.4V input and at low distortion (1% I believe).so what a sony amp with the required CEA rateing?
Sony is definately capable of making a much better product thats for sure. They used to make pretty decent stuff. Here is a post about the old and rare XM-2000R, and some pics.As Prowler said...CEA 2006 is completely voluntary. No company is required to comply with the standard. I really wish Sony would step up their game and produce car audio products on a level they are capable of, and on par with some of their products of the past. They could be a true contender in "high end" audio again if they wanted to. Most of the Mobile ES products kicked total butt.
