I think i blew my E8s... (pics)

I was just playing them like normally everyday, nothing super loud or anything. Yesterday i didnt even drive my car, and today when i get in my car, i notice the subs are quieter than normal. I still dont turn it all the way up, just playing normal. Then i hear the subs cut in and out sometimes. When i get home, i look at my box only to find out that only one sub is working. I take both of them out, one of them doesnt read any ohms, and the other reads 30+ ohms and keeps changing. This sucks, what could've happened?

Coils look fine, no burn marks or anything. On the one that doesnt read anything, there's a burn mark on the + tinsel.

You clipped them perhaps? Or maybe they weren't getting enough power and rebelled.

Nah i have my amp set very conservatively. Gain set less than 1/2 with LOC barely 1/4 and the bass on the stereo is -2

Yeah I love sundown, but its easy to mechanically put a hurtin on these. is the spider and cone seperating?

Right before i took them out, they werent playing, but when i pushed on the cone of the one that reads something, it would play and give out this nasty sound like it was bottoming out (it wasnt bottoming out since the volume was really really low)

It's definitely the subs, they read weird under the DMM. And the amp is an EVD-2200

* 4 ohms: 360 watts x 1 chan.

* 2 ohms: 650 watts x 1 chan.

* 1 ohm: 1020 watts x 1 chan.

If I'm looking at the video right, the resistance is high as hell.

one of mine is doign the EXACT same thing. drove fine one day, next it was barely playing. reads between 17-60 ohms and appears mechanically perfect. not scratching. i was told a connection on the inside may have come loose from overexcursion.

long story short, i have info that there will be a few recone parts available soon

so you didn't set the gain with a DMM correct? so you don't really know how hard the sub was being pushed correct????
