Re-cone parts will be available again soon through Mike (woofercooker).

Mike and I talked about some solutions to increase the lead durability when building the subs - if they do burn / break they seem to do it right at the triple joint so I suggested to cut one tie-down loop and bring the lead in through a hole in the cone like a traditional lead rather than at the base of the cone. Should give them a bit of slack right at the joint.

I should add the vast majority of E8s out there are still kicking.

We sold hundreds of them very quickly but I discovered that most folks wanted to put more hurting on their subs than the E8s could handle -- hence the SA-8 was born.

I dont understand why anyone would need to give these 300 watts. They are very efficient. Mine get about 150 each and they are loud and low, I beat on them regularly with every type of music and they shine.

so you didn't set the gain with a DMM correct? so you don't really know how hard the sub was being pushed correct????

didnt you know? thats how you set gains.

ok look this happened to one of mine! and 4 oif them went out from goindef. not pointing fingers or anything but all came froim woofercooker, not sure how many have just up and died like this but now that is 5 to my personal knowledge. get rid of the e8'sbro. run diff. 8's

Not to point any fingers but I still believe most of these issues are user error.

I have 4 of the first run of recones if not the first set of 4 that Woofercooker reconed after the inital sale of the E8 with the non weaved tinsle leads and normal surround.

If any of these subs were to fail it would be those and mine still kick hard as day one.

Not saying that it is possible that a COUPLE might have gone out the door defective after a freash recone.

I think alot of folks are putting WAY to much power and not adjusting gains /subsonic filters correctly.

The spider is pretty compliant on them -- if you stretch the spider (actually stretch it, not just hit the limits) you can stress the lead until it eventually breaks.
