Yup, can't even use that "the 12 outdisplaces a 13W7" argument anymore because you can pretty much buy two W7s for one XXX (Try outdisplace that). Pretty stupid if you ask me.seen a few quotes of an XXX being $1,600, sorry NO. Try again. lost me as a customer, yes I did usually stick to buying multiple RE RE's but still this is nuts.
Retail has seemed to work out pretty well for alpine, JL, etc... and they don't even sell directly. Its a great move for RE. look at the success of the JL W7, its overpriced, and JL sells a ton of them through retail.ya they are trying to bring more dealer sales in but let me ask you something...you honestly think must dumb highschool kids bumped rf or kicker are gunna step up $800 for re when they already think kicker is god...plus re lived through internet and direct sales...to abandon them all is ****ing nuts..but i guess only time will really tell if they made a good or bad move...i for 1 just hope their reconing didnt go up cus i need my 12'' sx to 18'' and im not about to spend 500+ for them!!
If RE is expecting to compete with jl alpine etc...they're gonna be in for a big disappointment if they dont change many things //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.Retail has seemed to work out pretty well for alpine, JL, etc... and they don't even sell directly. JL and Alpine have been established for years, and even JL is orders of magnitude bigger than RE. JL is successful because of marketing themselves as a high-end company through having their products constantly in high-end installs and celebrities' cars. There's no way RE has 10% of JL's advertising budget (and is unknown beyond the internet), so it's going to be hard to sell $800 woofers to people who don't see RE as a high-end company with any brand value or recognition. Taking market share from JL isn't as simple as just having a superior product.Retail has seemed to work out pretty well for alpine, JL, etc... and they don't even sell directly. yes but jl had their rep built way b4 the w7...re is jumping the gun to early like i saw early many people still have never even heard of them so the change the minds of jl lovers will be hard with a none mainstream brand...makes me respect soundsplinter and aa and other internet brands...they really are out to make a great product at an AFFORDABLE price...re are getting greddy...Retail has seemed to work out pretty well for alpine, JL, etc... and they don't even sell directly.
