I remember my first sub....

My first subwoofer was a 10" PPI flat sub, in a tiny-tiny box. It was powered by a 300watt PPI Art series amp. I also had a little PPI crossover 2-way crossover, because the amp didn't have a high-pass built in.

color looks kinda fruity lol but nice lookin sub ^2 . and is that just painted right on top of the wood.. looks pretty good if so
Haha, yeah. Its just painted right on the wood. I was trying to match the color of the amp but it uhhhhh, didnt work out as planned:uhoh:

Either way, I was 16 then and it was a hell of a lot of fun in that car!

My first subs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif After a few cheap highly NON-Professional dustcap fixes. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

They still pound to this day too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Those were my fist set too. My father and I built a ported box for them. I bought ports, and didn't know what size or anything. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Ended up sounding like poo, so we cut a new top panel and sealed it up. Sounded good and lasted for awhile. Ran them off of a 200 watt kenwood. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

My first sub was a 12" Incriminator Audio 187 I purchased way back in 2004 lol. It was powered by a Lanzar Vibe1200d(which I still have to this day pushing my my Rl-p. Lanzars are very good for the money) and pounded very nicely. Well I plugged the sub into a wall socket and the 187 is no longer. It lasted a while though...
you wall socketed a 187? you are a sick man!

Yeah, when I was changing cars I told my friend how to wire the sub and somehow he screwed up the wiring. I had the sub on for about 5 minutes and all I could smell was burnt voice coil so I new the sub was blown. I just finished it off with the wall socket. Beefy little sub that was!
ok then its cool then. i was like why would you kill such a beautiful woofer i loved my 187's. beefy as all hell

my fist set up was a pair of JBL 12" woofers (circa 1998-1999) in a bandpass box that i built in woodshop at school. the box actually hit considering the fact that i had NO idea on how to tune a box. i just made it look cool. the syetem was hooked up to a 300w phase linear amp.

got you all beat. I had a sparkomatic 2 knob radio, a precision amp ( with amp from radio ran thru speaker wire), and 4 ultimate 12s. Man I had electrical tape everywhere lol. 1992

I miss my old amp like that, pushed two Orion XTR's nicely. Not my first though. My first real setup, after running two spark-o-matic bass tubes from my fuse panel, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

was two Targa 10s on a Targa 200w 2ch.

I had a sweet JBL prefab with 2 loud and clear 10's

It had an orange face with "JBL!" CNC'd into the face with a black plastic backround that fit in the recess. By far the best looking prefab ive ever seen at a major electronics store.
