I really need some help

Well so I have this hu that I wanted to test and see if it would power on so I just cut the power(red), ground (black) which made my speakers thump like a heart beat for some reason then it stopped after 10+ beats, illumination wire(yellow), remote(blue+white) from my wiring harness that goes to my normal hu. So first I connect the ground, then i start to connect the yellow which starts to smoke so I stop, then I connect the red with no problems then the yellow with no smoking this time. It turns on everything is good then the wire slipped off so I turned everything off and I took some scissors and was cutting more shielding away from the wire and somehow one of the sides of the scissors must have hit something so it sparked. Now both of my head units will not work. Wiring them the same way I originally had them. I checked my audio fuse in the passenger compartment fuse box and it looked good(not open according to my manual) there are no audio fuses under the hood in that fuse box. I didn't hear any pops or anything so I don't know if it is even possible to have blown both fuses on both of my head units.

I am at a loss at things to try now. Anybody have any suggestions or anything at all?

Thank you in advance,

Darren

I would re-Check the fuses....All of them, Sometimes there are several different fuses that could be causeing this...Its good to double check...

Try to hook the HU's straight to a battery...Yellow and red to power, and black to ground, DO it carefully or they will Blow up...If they power on you know its in the wiring or fuse..

Ohh by the way..If something sparked..I would Def.. say check fuses!...And be more carefull next time PLus use correct tools

All of them in both fuse boxes? How would I do it carefully? Just place the negative first then touch the positive terminal with the wires or do power first then if it powers on take them off fast?

Well just get them on there good, so they dont slip.. If your carefull it doesnt matter how you do it, And you dont have to do it fast, It wont hurt anything.

Head unit powers on just fine when I connected it to the battery. Then when I tried again in my car hooking up those 3 wires no luck.

if it was fine when you hooked it up to your battery, then something is wrong with A) your wiring harness or B) your connections hooking it up to the wiring harness. make sure you are getting the correct wires together, and getting a good connection

I have the wires connected to each other the right way. They also both have fresh clean wire exposed which are wrapped tightly around each other. How would I know if my wiring harness was bad?

get a volt meter and check for voltage on the wires. yellow wire isnt illumination its memory for the deck and needs to be hooked up to constant power. The red is to be hooked up through switched power. There might be 2 different fuses for these. Also what car are you doing this in? are you using a harness adapter? If wiring directly into factory wires the colors will be different.

Ill borrow a volt meter tomorrow. Thats what is says on the back of the jvc units but yes I have it hooked up but still nothing. What do you mean by switched power? What would the fuses be? I checked all that I could see and they all were good. I am using a shosche wiring harness which is a piece of shit. I have a 2000 Nissan Alitima GLE. If I don't have voltage at those wires what could be causing that?

Thank you for your help
