I really need some help

Thats weird because on all my decks the illumination wire is orange. Switched power is the wire that turns on with the ignition key. usually on the aftermarket harness they go color for color. some decks wont turn on unless both the red and yellow are hooked up. are you hooking up the red to red and yellow to yellow and black to black? If so then it sounds like either a blown fuse or a bad harness. Its hard to check without a volt meter.

What exactly do I need to check with the volt meter? Yes I'm hooking them up color to color. I can show pictures if that would help at all what so ever. What fuses could have blown and wouldn't I have heard something? Thanks

well if your head unit turns on when you hook it up directly to the battery, then there is no fusees blown on the headunit or anything wrong with the headunit. check your car fuse box, and your radio fuse. and if it is good i will suggest what ^^^ he said

with a volt meter you would check to see if you have 12v on the red and yellow wire with the key on. the fuse is in the car fuse panel and should be labeled radio. I dont know much about Nissan.
