His is not great he has a Sony 1300 watt amp, and two 12'' sony xplods.. I want something that will blow his away without spending much more than what he did at Circuit City. He has a ford explorer XLT, I have a Nissan Altima.

Just give me an idea please; amp+subs.. possibly some 6.5s too. Thank you vm.

Well me and him both thought of putting systems in our cars. But hes guaranteeing his will be better.. all I said was alright. So I might as well try and have a bigger one than him. I have money, but I don't want to go overboard and have him say it was because i have more money than him. He already knows I have more money than him.

$500 off the internet, especially in car audio can go QUITE far. Go look on eBay, do some research.

You need the following; HU (headunit), 1 15" subwoofer, an amp to power your subwoofer, and a pre-fab enclosure that is if not exactly built to your subwoofers specs at least quite close. I'm talking about the cubic ft. of the box. Like, if you chose a sub that recommends a 2.5 cubic ft SEALED box. You better make sure you put it in a 2.5 cubic ft SEALED box.

Then after you choose your ingredients, come back to here and tell them to us. After that, we can give you advice on wiring the subwoofer (ohm load) etc. and send you on your way to victory.

Few other things to look for; Amplifier wiring kit (0/1 Gauge AWG)

Kicker 12" l7. Ported Box, Kicker zx750.1 cost me $504 shipped and i gaurantee it will run circles around him all day

get what bassace said. except for the amp. i will give you the advice that ppl gave me about amps running the CVR, get the cadence txa1000d on ebay from cadencedirect for 199 shipped. i heard it is a lot more efficient. the only problem with is that it is big so you gotta find a place to mount it.
