I need this cleared up......

My H/U is an Eclipse 8051. When I had my original setup, I ran it at 75/80 with no noticeable distortion/damage to my speakers. It does not have an internal amp. Is that volume too high? I've been told they need to be turned up that high to get the voltage out of the deck but I'm not sure that is true. Could someone help me out?

Its not to high if thats where you had it set for your gains like you said you didnt hear any audio distortion, i think you are ok.

just make sure your gains are set correctly and you shouldnt have a problem

as for prevolts making full voltage at full tilt i dont know.

When I had it hooked up the gains were very low. Still need an answer though. Bump

No you're fine up there, but I would set it at a lower setting so you have some headroom for poor level recordings.

I usually run CD's so I'm not too concerned with that. I buy most of my CD's at the store. I just wanted to be sure. Thanks for the help guys.
