same problem with my singer 320 amp alt. Would not charge until 1k rpm. My idle is 600... lol... Even mike Recommended me going down to a 275 or sending the alt back to do a regulator bypass mod. I currently have a DC 3.5k, its a beast of an amp, runs cold at 1 ohm. During a really hot day, I felt my amp and start out hot since the car cabin temperature itself is hot from the weather. i took it on a road trip and after an hour of heavy playing with windows down, it literally became cold to the touch when I checked for temps after the trip (OCD of mines). Gotta love that heat sink doing work.I have a mechman 320 amp HO Alt and I didn't notice when I bought it that it only charges when the engine is at 1200 rpm... The 250 amp version charges at idle
