Tried it...For real man. You need to get some real help. Life is tough at times, but the best days always make up for the worst of weeks.
Try something physical. Weight lifting and cardio help me with my depression in ways I cannot describe. I know you don't want to be social right now, but it's the key to getting over stuff. Go out and try some group activities. Martial arts, dancing, intramural sports, ANYTHING that puts you with a group of people.
