my internet dont work (on my parents comp rite now)

my wiress router is getting near perfect signal, but whenever i open internet explorer/opera, i get the "cannot find server page"

if i try to use bitlord, or limewire, it wont connect/download.

yea i have the icon with 2 little computers on the bottom right hand area (iferget wat its called) and it says its connected to my network.

What OS? More importantly, did you ethernet come with drivers? Even with a built in ethernet port, you need to install the drivers, regardless of whether it has a signal or not.

okay... erm my OS is Windows XP, i installed the driver/program for my wirless USB adapter, wat does "C:\ > Ipconfig /flushdns" do? and when i try to use opera, it says theres a server problem.

Is your parents computer setup throught a wireless connection or wired?

Did you try resetting your router and modem?

Is your computer setup with an automatic DHCP ip address or static IP?

can you ping the router?

What is your default internet gateway set to and what is the IP addy of the router? They should be the same. Can you access the router from your PC/Lappy?

FLUSHDNS does the same thing as resetting your network connection via DHCP from your local system. You can do similar at the router by rebooting it.

If you have a Linksys router, open internet explorer on YOUR computer and type

http://192.168.1.100

user: (leave blank)

pass: admin
