Hello

So I've got an at1200 pushing 2 dayton ho 10s. Trying to get 1200 watts rms out of the amp, but I'm running into some pretty serious clipping problems at anything above 500 wattsish.

For electrical supply I have 300 amp ea alt. Cadence 1/0 cca, stock batt up front, optima yellowtop in rear.

So on the hardest hitting bass at full 1200 watts (dmm 34.6v). My voltage does dip to resting batt voltage 12.6 or so, but never goes lower than 12.5. With that in mind, at the point the amp starts clipping iusing indicator on remote knob 500 or so watts, I have 14.5 volts straight, doesn't even dip, but I'm clipping.

I guess my electrical needs some boosting? where do I start though, cca change to ofc? Big back batt and move yellowtop up front?

I'm leary to do any of these things as I seem to clip on half amp power with full voltage, perplexing me to say the least.

1/0 cca shouldn't have any trouble delivering that amp what it needs... Something doesn't sound right about your situation //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

My 99 honda has an ELD device that kicks in to save gas back down to 12.5v.Did a bypass with the help of keep_hope_alive tutorial with a toggle switch and maintain 14.2v constant with one agm battery from Orileys super Start Platinum battery

I guess more details wouldn't hurt.....

Hu=eclipse cd7100, max volume used to set gains 60 out of 80 max

Wiring configuration: this parts a little funky, 1/0 big 3, 1/0 front stock batt to distro block distro is 1/0 input and 2x 4gauge output. Output of distroblock 1 end is stinger reducer 4gauge back up to 1/0wire to sub amp. Other output to rear batt with cadence 4 gauge, rear batt 4gauge to speaker amp, speaker amp ground goes to batt ground whcich in turn goes to ground on chassis. Sub amp 1/0 ground to chassis.

All pos fused appropriately

Well, there is one of the MAIN Issues right there..4ga wiring back to the rear battery, and also Bottled necked back up from 4ga to 0ga for the amp supply???Keep it all 0ga, and you shouldnt Starve the amps hunger

Yes run 1/0 from the front to the back and other batt for sure... I would just run the 1/0 with an inline directly from fron to rear batt, then add your distrobution from your rear battery if need be, but keep all 1/0 to the amp as well

1200w just doesnt seem right, i thinks its the amp...[or that bass knob just not right] you can get 1200w all day if all the wiring was 4ga, most cadence wiring 4ga is 3000w [doubt it, but thats what it says, so i'd say 1500w] and all your elec. is upgraded more than mine and i'm running a power hungry hifonics and don't have the issues...

So guys, I moved the yellowtop up front, and went around and sparkle cleaned all of my connections.

Anything over 400watts on the AT1200.1 is clipping. The amp now has full 1/0 directly to it from the yellowtop, which is (big 3 1/0) being charged by a 300amp alternator. With all a HO ALT, yellowtop, all 1/0, and no speaker amp even on, the most I get out of it without clipping is 500watts. sooooooo chalk it up to AT amps aren't very good?

knew this was going to be an issue with those amps, little birdie to me so

Ok so I took her for a few spins tonite. After a few miles it would hold up to full 1200watts no clipping. Seems a slight boost in my electrical may solve this issue completely, also looking a little suspicious that the HU may need to be set lower, as it may be part of the cause of the clipping. More to follow, but for now actually I'm kinda impressed with the AT 1200.1 d more to follow but don't start hatin yet.
