i need some good enclosures, but cheap!!!

haha ok thanks man, yeah i understand what you're saying. subs arent worth paying for the custom enclosure. i think ill be building one on my own now. and double-07 i have them in the back of a subaru forester from 2001. so they arent in a sealed spot like a trunk. theyre out in the open and much louder

If they are the red basket road thunders, they arent that bad of a sub if you got them for cheap. I picked up 3 about a year and a half ago for about $20 each and built a box for them, 3.75 cu/ft sealed. It was my first box I ever built. I ended up selling them to a friend with a 350w Alpine mono amp and they do great in his S10. I ran 1 in a sealed box for a little and it surprised me with output for the power I was running.

Building your own is much cheaper then anything.

Which model RT do you have, any pics or maybe a link to which version you have?

haha alright thanks dude. and double-07 those should fit, its in a subaru forester so its got a lot of open space. and it wont be in a small sealed trunk.
You never answered which model you have? Depending on that your enclosure specs will change. If you get a design ensure you get one that takes the correct driver, power, and your car's acoustics into consideration. If you do not just then just look through the free designs we have here. They will net the same result as a design based off of nothing other then what some one thinks will work. Which includes with double 07 suggested. With out knowing anything about the application and the actual subs they are just numbers being tossed around with no meaning behind them.

I was just simply throwing ideas at the guy instead of telling him his subs are SUB PAR at best...Nobody suggested that he go out and build that box right now or even use a box that size.......Did anyone else hear a circular saw start up?......There seems to be a lot of that going on on this site...Someone asks for help with an idea or enclosure and immediately his or her choice of equipment becomes the discussion.....thanks that is all

I'm not going to get into a pissing match with you here. You made a poor choice by even discussing an enclosure when there is not enough information about the product or application to do so. His product is part of that discussion. It is my personal and profesional opinion that having a custom built enclosure by any of us is not worth the cost. Jeremyg1 may be an option if he is close enough though. I still say picking up a cheap sealed enclosure will net the best upgrade in sound/output per $1 spent. Which his original post would suggest is what he wants.

Also those are very "sub par" subwoofers even for low end product. I am not bashing his product or telling him to upgrade. I don't want him to be in a situation that I see all to often where they want more then what can be done with the current product. If the OP is understanding that these are low end subs and perform as such then his expectations are in the right place.

The other options is for him to build an enclosure himself. This is another cheap method which will allow him to do sealed or ported. As long as he can keep from paying for a design then it is more then likely the cheapest method of all.(baring a craigslist sale with crack head pricing of course)

I should clarify a bit in my post.

I mean no disrespect to anyone. I have some personal issues going currently and it seems when I type they start to come out. I do apologize if this generate any ill feelings it was not intended for that purpose.

I would go through and rewrite what I typed but that just takes to long to do right now. Posting from a cell FTL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

sorry havent had access to a computer, i have the model RT108 200watts peak 100rms, and if you guys are still wiling to help id love your input. i got particle board to build my box. i dont know if i should by new terminals or can i use ones that i took out of a speaker box? i know they have capacitors or filters that filter out different frequencies. so im not sure if i should use the ones i have.
