Okay, as of now I have a 10x9 room [where I sleep] and a 9x9 room where my computer / tv is at. It's a slick set-up. But when you realize how small 10x9 and 9x9 is, it actually sucks a lot of D.
Anyway, my brother's moving back in October, so I have to give up a room. So, now I'm confined to a 9x9 space. I have to give up my queen sized bed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif and probably get a futon :crap:x2. Anyway, I need to build something that will hold my TV, Xbox, and snake cage.
I was thinking of making a simple double-box design. Basically, a main frame in the shape of a rectangle with a seperator inbetween with my TV ontop.
Here's the problem, that'd look weird since my snake cage is a 20-gallon long. [Dimensions: 30-1/8"x13"x12-9/16" not including the space necessary to take off the top and interact with anything/everything inside.
Here's another idea I was tossing around, which I can alter to fit my snake tank.
I call it: "TV-Standputer." Basically, a basic computer fixed into a drawer that slides out of the bottom which is connected VIA WiFi to my network so it can access movies from my main PC / server farm [Which I'm also making in the near future... I'll make pics if you want]. The top drawer is for my Xbox. Four fans blowing in, four blowing out.
I think what I'm going to do is change it up so that the Xbox will go on the bottom with the snake ontop [That way the heat won't affect my Xbox and any heat coming from my Xbox will go to my snake's cage... and they like that kinda stuff]. I'll also make the opening ontop higher so I can mess with the snake. Opinions?
So, what I propose to you, a challenge.
Help me design my new TV stand //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
EDIT:: If it matters, the dimensions of my TV are roughly 29-1/4"x20-1/2"x23-1/4"
EDITx2:: I did a mock-up in SketchUp and putting the snake's cage inbetween with the Xbox compartment is just dumb. So, I think I'm gunna re-make it and have it so that it's the Standputer, then Snake Compartment, TV stand, and over it will be the Xbox.
