I need opinions please.

Hi, i'm a 16 year old kid who is new to to the subwoofer scene, and i have a 1998 chrysler Cirrus, and i was thinking of getting one, 15" sub to put in my trunk. The reason for only 1 is because i have to fit a hockey bag in the trunk in the winter, so I am looking for something that will pound and yet I will still have room for my bag. I am either considering a Kicker comp, or a Cerwin vega. if you have any opinions please help. (I have a 700$ limit for everything) Thank you.

What up man. Im 16 too..i know what your goin through. Alot of my freinds have kicker comp VRs and love them. You could get one of those or maybe even something like an adire audio tempest or a 12" shiva.. http://www.adireaudio.com. those are about the best bang for the buck. They look sorta broke a$$ but when you hear them youll be blown away. Get sumthin like that and youll still have plenty for a good amp. Check out http://www.nexxon.com. they cary any amp you could want for real good prices. Hope this helps ya.

I also have a few more questions, what is the difference between Kicker Comp and Kicker Comp VR? is there a difference? and what amp woudl you prefer to go with a 500 watt sub? thank you.

i gott say go with the brahma too..i guess you could pull that off with $700. I think the only dif between the comp and comp VR is that the VR can handle a little more power...i dunno though for sure.

if im right the kicker comp is svc and the kicker comp vr has dvc so yes it does hold more power

What about 1 L5 15'' and a JBL 1200.1? Can be got for about 285 for amp, and about 250-260 for sub on the net and that'll leave u money left over for installation or are u doing that yourself?

I would look at Adire's Brahma Sub They have both SPL and SQ and all of the Kickers that I have heard are just Loud. No SQ at all. But people on this forum say that they can sound good if installed right.

Another option is the Alpine 15" type R, Taylor, a user on here hits around 140 Db with one Alpine R 15". Just my thoughts.

Ahh i'm confused again. so far i have ordered a box and a kicker 15 inch. but now i need a amp. Do i need a mono amp? since i only have one sub. (btw - 500 watt sub)

i like the new class X MA amps that's about it that i like by MA audio for amps. many people if not all on here will disagree with me on this but i would be willing to bet many haven't actually seen the new Class X amp used in a car but i'm sure some have. anyway i would get a jbl600.1
