I need Louder

I have 1 sa12 running off a db a7 2000.1, im looking for louder, because of what I need to carry in my hatch, I can only go with a single 12" the box I built is 2.0 ft^3, ported, tuned to 35htz. is it worth it to upgrade to a dc lvl 4, or z12 v.3? I don't want to have to buy another amp, or go crazy with electrical. the db a7 was clamped at 1836w @ 1ohm

any input appreciated, thanks

swapping subs will only get louder if motor force is greater. you really need to consider if you're serious about getting louder b/c to me it sounds like you don't. i get guys like you in the shop all the time that talk about getting "louder" but don't want to give up the space or put up the money on electrical and amps.

Hello guys, I want loud. But with one 12 inch sub. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/waycrazy.gif.f4a380c3f94043939fd369defd9e6be2.gif

I think it would be worth it to upgrade, but I wouldn't get something like the DC 4XL. If you're not going to upgrade your amp, you would be underpowering your sub and it wouldn't make much of a difference. It is rated conservitavely at 2200 RMS. I think the Z V3 would be a good choice. Its rated at 1500, but the 1800 that you have would be no problem. If you don't want to build a bigger box, invert the Z V3 to get more usable box volume.

I figured that, might just get another sa12 and build a box for 2, just didn't want to take up my whole hatch, o well. thanks for the input. if I go that route would the a7 be enough for 2? also electrical, stock alt is a 120 amp, and battery is a group 94r, thanks

I have an amp that does about 300w more than that DB amp but is more than 10% more efficient which would save you on electrical..

OR..

an amp that is Twice the power of that DB amp but is also 10% more efficient than that db drive amp for only about ~$100 more than what those amps go for new street pricing.

That's what you want\need, high efficiency without upgrading electrical and these amplifier make a ton of actual power output because that's how they are designed. Real world power after taking into account impedance curve, not high power at resistive loading.

I know what your referring to and those amps are good in this case.. they are very small and very effecient, would work well in a hatch looking to get loud in that regard.
