I just sold a Sundown Zv5 12. D1. And I also sold a Rockford Fosgate T2500-1bd.
I have a mechman 240 amp alternator.
Normal car battery up front.
A yellow top in the trunk.
I could not afford to feed that Zv5 12. So I'm thinking of buying the Sundown Audio V2 12s rated at 1000 watts rms, or possibly some old school Pioneer Champion Pro Series 12s rated the same. I thought I wanted a JP23 but I'm worried it won't be enough. Can someone please give me some advice. If I have 2 12 inch subs rated at 1000 watt rms, do I need a 2500, a 3k, or a 4k for those subs. The jp23 will give me 2000 watt rms given my electrical can supply that which it probably cannot. I'm lost. Help please.

Sundown SIA3500 and be done.

The sia Bobby suggested or a taramps smart 3k or smart5k might be the most cost effective way to to power them...

Might even look at a CT Sounds 2k or the 3200 that are on sale.. Sound Qubed may also offer within your budget. Should be quite a few Labor Day Sales going on to find something to meet the criteria

hate to say it, but that rockford should have been able to do what you want. feeding it is where you should turn your attention. im not really a box brand fanatic, but i used to have the 500, and it would do every bit of around 1200rms, once i fed it enough power

I have 2 Sundown SA10v2 (1000w version) and just replaced my RF R1200 with a T-1500.1bd and OMG! I was considering Ampere Audio, JP23, Sundown SAZ-1500, SIA series…what sealed it for me was going to a brick and mortar store and negotiating a deal for the RF. It seriously woke up these subs ( way under powered with R1200). Plus I don’t have a lot of room in my Camaro trunk, and the T-1500 isn’t power hungry. It was a great a choice for me.

Here is my thought, theory. Those speakers are 80w rms. Half of that is 40w rms. Add the 40 to the 80 and you get 120w. Get an amp that is 120w...

It depends on how cheap you wanna go but I've had excellent results with a 12inch power acoustic gothic sub in a small sealed enclosure for budget...
