Does it matter if I set my gain with the audio control preset to powerful, flat, natural? (is the the EQ boost ya'll are talking about)? Since I'm going to have the Hpf on should I set the gain with it off or with it on already?
Yes. Leave it flat. Let the music make its sound not a jacked up EQ. If you want to get more advanced you need processing power and tools. Install is the most important part also. It's more than just swapping speakers and hooking up amps.
You're telling me I have been listening to music wrong all these years? I never used flat before, but I also never had an amp before. So if you have an amp the best setting is flat? What is the setting User or something like that?
View attachment 26551492The best setting is using a RTA to build a proper response curve. Taking into account everything and adjusting it accordingly using pink noise.
But yes most people do it wrong.
This is what it should look like but you need software and tools to see it. The Headunit has no idea what's really going on, it's not measuring anything. Make sence?
ok, so i think the main confusion here is that we aren't explaining how an audio signal behaves and that lack of understanding is contributing to your confusion. i'll send you a PM.
